What You Eat May Help the Environment
Did you know that organic farms do not use synthetic pesticides — some of which can harm the soil, water and local wildlife? Animals reared on these farms are not given antibiotics or growth hormones. Organic farms also use less energy and produce less waste! Some studies revealed that organic food tastes better and is also healthier for you!
So where can you find organic foods? Whole Foods Market (formerly called Wild Oats) is a strictly organic grocery store, and they have locations spread all across the US. They offer a HUGE variety of food, as well as environmentally-friendly cleaning products and beauty products. They even carry organic pet food!
If there are no Whole Foods Markets in your town, you can head on over to www.organicstorelocator.com to find an organic store closest to you. You will probably also find that most larger grocery stores have a special organic section. You can always check the food you're buying for this label:
